Preparation for installation of urn with pictures in most pandals

Bareilly. Corona changed everything. Along with snatching people’s livelihood, many traditions also changed. The artists who made the Durga idols on Navratri also could not muster the courage to try their hand at Mati. Due to non-construction of idols, this time most of the places are being prepared to install the urn by placing a picture of Maa Durga. Devotees are disillusioned with this, though Durga Puja organizers say that even after the idols are not worshiped, there will be no loss in the grace of Maa Durga.
There is a lot of crowd in Durga Puja every year with pomp, but this time these programs will be celebrated under the guide line of the government. Advisory such as social distance, masking, using sanitizer and thermal screening of devotees will all have to be followed in these programs. The nature of Durga Puja will also be changed. Actually since this time, due to the continuous horrors of Corona infection, the artists could not muster the courage to build big Durga idols. A few days ago it also showed its impact on Ganesh Chaturthi. Due to non-construction of large statues, people had to worship and immerse the small idol. Now even large statues are not available on Durga Puja.
Durga Puja organizers say that the kalash will be set up like every year by putting up a pandal, although this time the statue of Maa Durga will be replaced by her pictures. After four days of worship, the Kalash and the picture will be immersed on Dussehra. Dhruva Chatterjee, president of the Bengali Cultural Welfare Society, said that Durga Maa will visit her maternal home with mother Lakshmi, mother Saraswati, Ganesh ji and Karthikeya ji as every year. Four days later, when immersion takes place, Shiva will go to her. Nandan Chakraborty of Durga Puja Committee Road number four told that this time the crowd will not have to be gathered. Though there will be a pandal and people will also come, but mutual distance will be taken care of. Devashish Pandit of Kalibari temple of Road number seven Izatnagar said that instead of a grand event this time only Kalash Puja will be done. By the way, more than three thousand people used to attend this event every year.
