In Bareilly, the mob ransacked the police fort after the police officers approached the leaders of Hindu organizations who came to give a memorandum about the kidnapping of a young girl belonging to another community of a Hindu girl. In response, on the orders of the officers, the police fired sticks at the crowd. In this, the matter got caught up after some workers were injured. The crowd, which created a huge commotion, stayed in the police station for four hours.

After the situation got serious, all the officials including ADG, DIG, and SSP reached the police station, then the city and Bithri MLAs along with the mayor also came. One inspector and two soldiers were suspended, with the inspector spotting the line, proving prima facie the fault of the police. The SP countryside has been ordered to undergo a medical examination of the injured workers.

The girl’s father lodged a report against six people, including a young man named Bilal, at the police station fort on October 17, calling her a minor. It was alleged that the girl came under the guise of Bilal and took eight lakh rupees and jewelry kept in the house. Hindu organizations along with the girl’s family were under pressure to recover her soon after, calling it a case of love jihad. On Tuesday afternoon, BJP metropolitan president KM Arora, VHP department convener Pawan Arora along with people from various Hindu organizations reached the police station.
