Ganguly reached Raj Bhavan on Sunday evening and held discussions with the Governor for about an hour. The governor said that Ganguly has accepted the invitation to visit the Eden Gardens.
Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Sourav Ganguly met West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Sunday evening. The meeting lasted for an hour between the two. After this meeting, the speculation of Ganguly joining BJP has intensified. However, sources associated with the Raj Bhavan called it a courtesy meeting. The governor said many issues were discussed with Ganguly. Ganguly was invited to visit the Eden Gardens ground, which is accepted.
Political uproar before elections in Bengal
Assembly elections will be held in West Bengal in April-May next year. Earlier, political turmoil has intensified. Recently, 10 MLAs joined the BJP along with rebel Shubhendu of Trinamool in the presence of Home Minister Amit Shah. Meanwhile, BJP MP Soumitra Khan’s wife Sujatha Mandal joined Trinamool.
