The rainy season has resumed in Mumbai. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in many areas of Maharashtra on Thursday. The department has also issued a red alert for North Konkan area including Mumbai, Thane. Due to heavy rains, many areas of Mumbai have been flooded. Roads near Sion Police Station and Kings Circle have been submerged in water.

Mumbai’s Lower Parel area also received heavy rainfall.

Rescued 40 from flood-affected area of ​​Pune
On Wednesday, 40 people were rescued from the flood-hit Neemgaon Ketki village in Pune. According to the SDO of Baramati, 40 people have been rescued, while a rescue operation is being carried out to save 15 others. At the same time, in another incident, 2 people trapped with their vehicle in Indapur were rescued.

Locals in Indapur, Pune rescued a person with the help of JCB. Water has also reached the resident area of ​​Baramati in Pune.

Roads were also flooded near the Srimanta Dagduseth Halwai Ganpati temple due to heavy rains.

30 deaths due to rain in Telangana so far
In many areas of Telangana, the death toll due to the rain since Tuesday has reached 30. Of these, 19 deaths have been reported only in Greater Hyderabad, while 4 people are said to be missing. Roads in the area have turned into rivers. Many vehicles were swept away by the strong currents of water. On Wednesday, 9 people, including a 2-month-old child, were killed when a stone fell on a house in Bundel Guda area.

According to the Meteorological Department, due to low pressure in the Bay of Bengal, many districts of Telangana and Odisha are receiving heavy rains. The National Disaster Response Team (NDRF) and the army have been involved in relief and rescue operations in the areas affected by heavy rains. Boat’s help is being sought to save people. At the same time, 2 helicopters have been put on standby for rescue operation.

Prime Minister talks to CM of Telangana and Andhra
Prime Minister Narendra Modi called Telangana Chief Minister K.K. Chandrasekhar Rao and spoke to Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. He inquired about the conditions created by heavy rains in both the states and assured all possible help in relief and rescue operations.
