Prime Minister Narendra Modi is addressing the centenary celebrations of Visva-Bharati University in West Bengal through video conferencing. He said- O Creator Dao-Dao Mode Gaurav Dao. This was ever wished by Rabindranath Tagore. I pray the same today. It is a matter of pride for every Indian to have 100 years of Visva-Bharati University. It is also very pleasant for me that this day I am getting an opportunity to remember the virtue of this taphobhoomi. Friends, the 100-year journey of Visva-Bharati is very special. This place gives continuous energy to the dream that Gurudev had dreamed.

Was founded in 1921
Visva-Bharati is the oldest Central University in the country, founded in 1921 by Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore. In May 1951, it was declared a Central University and Institution of National Importance.

PM has joined the program in 5 universities in 2 months

  • On 19 October, Modi attended the Centenary Convocation of the University of Mysore. In this university program formed in 1916, Modi explained to the youth the true meaning of education and initiation.
  • Participated in a program of JNU on 12 November. Taking part in Swami Vivekananda’s statue unveiling ceremony, Prime Minister Modi gave a message to the youth that the ideology is later, the country is first.
  • At the eighth convocation of Deendayal Petroleum University, Gandhinagar on 21 November, giving degrees and diplomas to 2600 students, appealed to them to contribute to the development of the country.
  • On 25 November, while participating in Lucknow University’s 100-year program, the youth was informed about the objectives of the new National Education Policy.
  • On 22 December, Modi took part in the centenary celebrations of Aligarh Muslim University in Uttar Pradesh, which was in the discussion about the movement against CAA. He counted the work done in the education sector. Also said that in which religion you have grown up, what is more important is how to connect our aspirations with the country.
