The National Testing Agency has declared the results of NEET 2020 in the evening after waiting all day on Friday. Candidates appearing in the examination held on 13 September and 14 October can check their scores on the official website ntaneet.nic.in. Shoaib Aftab topped All India in the exam. Shoaib has made history by scoring 720 out of 720 in the exam. According to media reports, Shoaib has not only scored full marks, but he has become the first student of Orissa to top the NEET exam. 50% marks successful

Candidates scoring 50 percent or more in the examination will be considered successful. However, seats in medical and dental colleges are given on the basis of merit-based counseling. The counseling will be conducted by the National Medical Commission (NMC), which has replaced the Medical Council of India (MCI).

Counseling will start after the result

After the NEET results are released, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) will start the counseling process for AIQ (All India Quota) seats. Candidates who have qualified in the examination will have to register for counseling on the official website mcc.nic.in. During registration, candidates have to fill their personal, academic, NEET result, contact details and other information.

AIIMS and JIPMER will have admission with NEET score

Earlier, according to earlier announcements, from the year 2020, admission will be given on all 14 AIIMS and MBBS seats in JIPMER Puducherry based on NEET result and score card. For this, amendment to the National Medical Commission Act 2019 was passed in Parliament.

Marks calculate with this formula

NEET marks = (4 X total correct answers) – (1 X total incorrect answers)

Tie-break occurs on being of the same rank

Tie breaking is done in order of high marks in biology if the result is released, if two or more candidates have marks like S. Even after this, if the tie remains, then high marks in chemistry are considered for tie-breaking. If the problem is still not resolved, at least the candidate achieving negative marking is preferred. Even after a tie, the candidate is ranked based on their age, and the older candidate is placed at the top.

Examination again on 14 October

Earlier on Monday, the Supreme Court, while hearing on Monday, had instructed to hold the NEET again on October 14 for the candidates who could not appear in the examination held on September 13. During this time, the court also directed that the result should be released on October 16 after conducting the examination again for the candidates who have been denied examination due to Kovid-19 infected or containment zone.
