Agriculture Minister Narendra Tomar has tried to address the concerns of farmers by writing a letter of 8 pages to them.
Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar wrote a letter to farmers on Thursday on the 22nd day of the peasant movement. In this, along with addressing the concerns of the farmers, he also advised not to become a pawn of the opposition. He said that those people who opposed the ideology of the country in the 1962 war, are misleading the peasants from behind the scenes, today they are speaking the language of 1962 again.
Tomar has written in the letter that some people are constantly spreading lies among the farmers. Farmers should not be caught in their words. The letter also clarifies the lies spread about the agricultural laws.
The letter came after a meeting of Union Ministers with Home Minister Amit Shah. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar were present in this meeting held in BJP headquarters. Apart from these, the party’s general secretaries CT Ravi, Dushyant Gautam and Arun Singh also attended.
Steps taken by the government
Tomar wrote that in the last six years, our government has taken several steps to increase the profits of farmers and make farming easier. Small farmers are benefiting from these. The objective of giving six thousand rupees annually through PM Kisan Samman Nidhi was that these farmers would not have to take loans.
Schemes like Crop Insurance, Soil Health Card and Neem Coating Urea have been introduced. The problem faced by the farmers was that most of the godowns and cold storage centers were built near villages, away from cities. This did not benefit the farmers. For this, the government has created a fund of one lakh crore rupees.
Talking constantly to clear up the confusion
He then reiterated that the mandis would not be closed. They will keep going. They are being strengthened further. Opposition parties are spreading lies about this. Their political ground has been eroded. The Agriculture Minister said that the government is constantly trying to clear the confusion that is being spread about MSP, Mandi and land.
