  • Manvendra is considered to be the strongest opponent of Vasundhara Raje, Congress could not make better use of Manvendra
  • Equations can change in western Rajasthan, return to BJP is not as easy

Manvendra Singh, son of the founder member of BJP and former Union Minister Jaswant Singh Jasol, a strong leader, seems disenchanted with the Congress. Manvendra, hurt by the constant neglect in the party, is once again raising the pang of his old party BJP. The aroma of his honorable return to the party is intensifying. It is being told that these days the BJP is trying to strengthen the party’s base by adding back the anti-Vasundhara Raje leaders.

However, Manvendra has kept his silence about this. People close to him say that everything will become clear in a few days. Manvendra Vasundhara is considered to be a strong opponent of Raje. He also contested the last assembly election against Vasundhara Raje.

Disillusionment with Congress caused this
Before the last assembly election (2018), Manvendra left the BJP after a big conference with his supporters in Pachpadra, saying – Lotus flower is our mistake. He then joined the Congress. In the assembly elections, he demanded three tickets from the Congress, but the party did not give tickets to any supporters, including his wife, but instead made them a goat in front of Vasundhara Raje.

From here, anger started in Manvendra’s mind. Even during the Lok Sabha elections, the party could not use Manvendra properly. In the recent elections of the Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samitis, he was not even asked for attention, even far away. After this, Manvendra, who was alone in the Congress, has no other option.

What will be the impact if you go to Congress?
Jaswant Singh had a profound influence on the Rajput society. People of the society are still expecting from Manvendra. Manvendra, once an MP and once an MLA, has a good hold in Jodhpur and Jalore areas including Barmer and Jaisalmer. The BJP will directly benefit from his leaving the Congress.

Due to this, it could not be used in Congress
Manvendra was not able to feel comfortable in Jat based politics in Marwar while staying in Congress. The local leaders of Barmer stood against him. Due to opposition from local leaders, his wife Chitra could not get a ticket in the assembly elections.

… but the road in BJP is not easy
Manvendra is trying to get a respectable return to the BJP, but the road is not that easy. It is no longer easy for the BJP to adjust Manvendra in the politics of Barmer-Jaisalmer or Jodhpur. Union Waterpower Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has set his foot as a Rajput leader in Jodhpur. At the same time, Manvendra, who was the MP of Barmer-Jaisalmer, has now been replaced by Union Minister of State for Agriculture Kailash Chaudhary. In such a situation, Manvendra may have to face opposition even at the local level in the BJP.

For him, options other than his former Shiva assembly constituency are very limited. At the same time, Shekhawat, who is in the race to become the Chief Minister of the BJP, would not want another influential Rajput leader to step into the party. In such a situation, it will be seen how much respect the BJP will be able to give to them.

There is strong resentment with Vasundhara
As Vasundhara Raje became the Chief Minister, relations between the two families started to get bitter. Vasundhara stopped paying attention to Jaswant Singh. The situation was such that Jaswant Singh’s phone stopped picking up. Meanwhile, a person in Jodhpur tried to build a temple of Vasundhara. Jaswant’s wife Sheetal Kanwar registered a case against him for insulting the deities. From here the bitterness between the two families became public and the distance in the relationship increased considerably.

Some BJP leaders attended a social function held in Jaswant’s native village Jasol. Jaswant welcomed these anti-Vasundhara leaders from the Marwari tradition of opium. The matter caught fire. At the behest of Vasundhara, a case was registered against the organizers. This matter also remained in the headlines for several days.

Vasundhara’s last hit
Long before the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in the midst of a feud between the two families, Jaswant announced that this would be his last election. In such a situation, he will contest from his own parliamentary constituency, Barmer-Jaisalmer. Before the election, Vasundhara threw the dice and Jaswant’s game was overturned. Congress MP Colonel Sonaram Chaudhary brought Vasundhara to BJP and insisted from the high command and gave him a ticket. Jaswant remained empty handed. He described it as stabbing in the back. Along with this, he announced to contest independent elections. Jaswant had to face defeat from this parliamentary constituency, one of the most talked about elections in the country. A few months later, not only Jaswant, but also the family relationship went into a coma.
