Its specialty:

  • It is the first indigenous missile that can hold any type of signal and radiation. May also destroy missiles.
  • It can target any target leaving or receiving radiofrequency.
  • Launch speed is more than 0.6 to 2 Mach i.e. 2469.6 kmph.
  • Its range depends on how high the fighter jet is. It can be launched from 500 meters to 15 kilometers altitude. During this time, the missile can target every target within a radius of 250 km.
  • Even if the enemy has shut down the radar system, Rudram will target him.
  • Seed operations can lead to suppression of enemy air defense. Under this operation, the enemy’s air defense system is completely destroyed.

It can lock the target before and after launching. The test monitored all its radar and electro-optical tracking systems. All its techniques performed well.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated the DRDO for this achievement. He tweeted- New Generation Anti-Radiation Missile (Rudram-1) was successfully test-fired from ITR of Balasore today. Congratulations to DRDO and other partners involved in preparing it for this important achievement.
