HAL Employee Arrested By Maharashtra Anti Terrorism Squad For Supplying Fighter Jet Details To Pakistan ISI

The Maharashtra Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) has arrested an employee of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), a spy for the Pakistani intelligence agency ISI. He has been identified as Deepak Shirsat, 41 years old.

He was in touch with ISI through WhatsApp and social media. He had sent intelligence related to Indian fighter jets and their preparation for Pakistan. He was taken into police custody three days ago. However, ATS Additional DG Deven Bharti informed this on Friday.

According to ATS officials, Shirsat was involved in quality control in the aircraft division of HAL in Ozar, Nashik. Different variants of MiG and Sukhoi fighters are manufactured at HL’s Ozhar plant.

Was on the radar of security agencies for the last few days
Shirsat met a foreign man a few days ago. Police and security agencies got information about this. He was on the radar of security agencies since then. He has seized three mobiles, five SIM cards, and two memory cards.

During interrogation, he confessed to being in touch with ISI. He had given to ISI many documents, photographs, and some maps related to the fighter aircraft making facility. He was collecting important information about the country’s defense facilities.
