Had to go to the hospital again and again, the house was converted into a hospital

Knowledge’s wife Kumudini Srivastava is 72 years old. Gyan says that ‘My wife has asthma for the last four years. Many times he had to get admitted in the hospital too and after a few days he was discharged. This process went on continuously for the last four years. When my wife was about to be discharged from the hospital in September last year, I prepared the entire setup of the hospital in my house before that. First made the fitting of oxygen pipeline. Then converted a room into an ICU. It also has suction machine, nebulizer, air purifier and ventilator. A few days later, the wife was discharged from the hospital and brought home.

Gyan has got cylinders fitted with oxygen fittings in his car, turning the car completely into an ambulance. Whenever they have to take the wife to the hospital in emergency, they go by this.

Gyan says that the patient gets infection from the hospital, but it is not so at home. Yes, sometimes one has to go to the hospital in emergency, but now he is able to take care of his wife at home in a better way than the hospital. Wife needs four liters of oxygen per minute. We ship 2 cylinders every week, if the supply has been running for a year, then the cylinder arrives on time. Now there was some problem in the Corona era, then the collector gave the application to the SP, then he immediately called the supplier and provided us with an oxygen cylinder.

How did it all happen? On the answer to this question, he says- ‘I am an engineer, and the engineer is the one who does everything. I continuously monitor oxygen with a pulse oxy meter and regulate the oxygen supply accordingly.

Bring the experience of mechanical production to medical operation theater

Gyan says’ I am 74 years old, was born in Kanpur. In 9th class, my teacher was Shivnarine Das Jaiswal ‘Gandhiji’. When we could not do anything, he used to punish himself, because he believed that if he could not explain a student properly as a teacher, then that student would not have done that work. Gyan made this thing of his teacher the inspiration of his life. Gyan joined Forest Ranger One, but a few years later he came to the Jabalpur Ordinance Factory as an engineering apprentice. Also lived in mechanical engineering here for four years. Gyan says’ Here I learned a lot, that experience has been useful in my life so far. I took the experience of my mechanical production to the Medical Operation Theater and due to that, today I am able to give my wife a hospital-like atmosphere at home.

Gyan says that ever since the wife has come to bed, her routine has also changed. Now he wakes up in the morning and drinks hot water to the wife first and drinks herself. Then make the wife toilet on the pot itself. Then make tea for both of them, monitor the oxygen supply in between and then feed the medicine. However, he has also hired a permanent nurse who performs injections and drips. Gyan says that ‘I also see Facebook, Twitter YouTube on my tab near his bed. With the help of this, they read the news, have filed four PILs in the Supreme Court, and keep updating them. Gyan says very well that ‘I have all kinds of tools, I do all kinds of work at home. Right now the mask of the Vetilanter was tight, so it also modified its belt itself.

When the wife first fell ill she went into depression

When the wife of knowledge first fell ill in 2016, she too went into depression. Then he used yoga to come out of depression. When the wife’s langs fail, she is unable to fully take oxygen. This condition is called respiratory failure failure. In such a situation, the patient has to always be on oxygen support. Gyan says that everything was managed in youth, but today my wife needs me more, now I feel more duty than love. He is an equal contributor to whoever I am today. In such a situation, I also have a responsibility to take care of them.

Aakash Khare, a 46-year-old son is a software engineer, went to America in 1998 and is now set there. 43-year-old daughter Pragya Srivastava is also a software engineer, she is married and is currently set in Chicago.

Gyan says that ‘Both children talk daily on video calls. There is also a security camera in the house, so that they can see our location whenever they want. Both came to meet us in November last year. Gyan says that there is no doubt in his heart that children are far from us at this age. We taught them to be successful in their lives.

He says that ‘it is not at all practical for Kai to leave his job and come to us. What will you do even after coming here From there at least they are doing their work and taking care of us. I too have not lived in my father’s village, the elders in life should accept that children cannot live with them. When there are no children, adopt other families. Talkers are needed at this age. Do not skimp at this age, if you give money then everyone will serve you. I have also kept a family with me without rent.
