Today is the 39th day of the farmers’ agitation against agricultural laws. There will be an 8th round meeting with the farmers’ government on Monday. Before this conversation, the farmers warned the government that if the government did not accept their demands, then the agitation would intensify.

Farmer leader Manjit Singh Rai, who is demonstrating on the Singhu border, said that farmers will celebrate Lohri by burning a copy of the new agricultural laws on January 13 and also on January 23, to celebrate Farmers Day on the occasion of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s birthday.

According to the news agency, in the meeting on Monday, big issues of farmers can also be resolved. The government can give written confidence in the issues of support price (MSP) and Agriculture Produce Market Committee (APMC). With this, such arrangements can be made that private companies are not able to buy crops in mandis at a price lower than MSP.

Roadmap ready for meeting if the government fails
The farmers are staging a sit-in on the borders of Delhi ahead of the government meeting on Monday. However, in case the negotiations are not successful, a roadmap has also been prepared. The Farmers Coordination Committee has said that if the demands are not met, the farmers from across the fronts around Delhi will enter Delhi on January 26 and take out the Farmers Republic Parade with tractor-trolley and other vehicles.

Gehlot-pilots will picket in support of farmers
Meanwhile, the opposition parties are also busy surrounding the government on the issue of farmers. Several Congress leaders, including Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, State Congress President Govind Singh Dotasara and former Deputy CM Sachin Pilot, will perform in Jaipur today.
