Cyclone Nivar in the Bay of Bengal has caught pace. Chennai has been raining continuously for the last 24 hours. The condition is that many areas are flooded. Former CM Karunanidhi’s house has also been flooded and its video is now going viral. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast it to turn into a dangerous cyclone.
Nivaran will hit the coast of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry on Wednesday evening. During this time, strong winds can run from 100 to 150 kilometers per hour. 1200 rescue troopers have been deployed in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andhra Pradesh to deal with the storm. 800 such Troopers are placed on standby. Railways have canceled 12 pairs of trains. It has been decided to dismantle several trains in advance of the storm affected stations.
Modi discusses with CM of Puducherry and Tamil Nadu
Prime Minister Narendra Modi held discussions with the Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry on Tuesday about the prevention. Modi insisted on evacuating the low-lying areas and moving people to safer areas. The PM assured both the CMs of all possible help.

The weather has started to change in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry due to the impact of the storm from the Arabian Sea. IMD has warned of heavy rain at many places.
Rainfall in many parts of Tamil Nadu-Puducherry
In the wake of the storm, large dams, including the Chamberambakkam in Tamil Nadu, are being constantly monitored. People living in low-lying areas are being evacuated to safer places. On Tuesday, the storm was 410 from Puducherry and 450 km from Tamil Nadu. The rains have started in many parts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry even before the storm came. The Meteorological Department has warned of heavy to very heavy rainfall in many places on Wednesday.

Updates:
- IMD Delhi scientist RK Jennamani said – The Navaran cyclone was 450 kilometers southwest of Chennai on Tuesday afternoon. It is heading west. It is projected to move towards the Tamil Nadu coast. It will hit the coast of Puducherry at 5 pm on Wednesday. It is expected to increase further.
- The IMD has said that while hitting the coast of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry on Wednesday, strong winds could reach speeds of 100 to 120 kilometers per hour as a preventive effect.
- During the storm on the coast, very high waves are expected to rise in the sea at both places. There is a possibility of water infiltration in the low lying areas of the districts on the northern coast. A warning has been issued to fishermen to stay away from the sea.
- Scientist S Balachandran of IMD Chennai said- Cyclone Prevention will reach Karaikal and Mamallapuram in Puducherry by Wednesday evening. Due to the impact of the storm, Tamil Nadu will continue to rain till 27 November.

The Meteorological Department on Tuesday released a map showing the latest status of cyclonic storm prevention. In view of this, an alert has been issued in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
8 ships of Coast Guard, 2 aircraft deployed
In view of the storm, 8 Coast Guard and 2 aircraft have been deployed near Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coast in the southeast of the Bay of Bengal. Through these merchant ships and fishing boats are being warned of the storm. NDRF teams are also advising people to take measures to prevent bad weather.

Relief and rescue teams have been asked to be prepared with necessary equipment in the districts affected by the storm in Tamil Nadu.
30 NDRF teams ready for rescue and relief
National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) DG SN Pradhan said on Monday evening that 12 teams have been deployed in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andhra Pradesh in the wake of the storm. In these states, 18 teams have been placed on standby.

The NDRF has deployed 30 teams in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andhra Pradesh in view of the deterrence.
