Nivar Cyclone from the Bay of Bengal is currently 120 km from Puducherry and has a speed of 11 km / h. It may hit the south coast after 2 pm tonight. The storm will then cross Karaikal (Andhra Pradesh) and Mahabalipuram (Tamil Nadu). Winds of 145 kmph can be carried while passing through here.

Chennai airport has been closed from 7 pm today till 7 am tomorrow due to the prevention. Earlier 26 flights were canceled. Power cuts have also been done at many places in Chennai. A holiday has been announced till November 26 in 16 districts of Tamil Nadu. Cities like Chennai, Vellore, Cuddalore, Villupuram, Nagapattinam, Thiruvarur, Chengalpattu and Perambalor are included.
