Flights from Britain to India started in the country amid rising cases of new corona strains. The first flight of the UK landed in Delhi on Friday brought 256 passengers. The government has started flights from Britain to India from today. Earlier flights from India to the UK were started from 6 January. At the same time, cases of Corona’s UK strain have increased to 75 in India.

Passenger and crew members test required
The government has made the RT-PCR test mandatory for all passengers and crew members of the flight from the UK. Necessary arrangements have been made for this at the airport itself. Passengers will be allowed to leave the airport only when their corona report arrives.

30 flights a week will operate
Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri had said that 30 flights would be operated every week. 15 will fly from India and 15 from the UK. At the same time, Delhi Airport has appealed to passengers to keep a gap of about 10 hours for their connecting flights.

Kejriwal said – Stop till January 31
Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the Center has decided to lift the ban and start flights to Britain. In view of the critical situation of Corona in Britain, I appeal to the Central Government to increase the ban on UK flights by 31 January.

Center banned on 23 December
The central government had last month banned all flights from the UK from 23 December to 7 January after receiving a new Corona strain. Separate guidelines were also issued for those who came from Britain.

UK variants 70% more dangerous than before
According to experts, mutations (changes in appearance) occur continuously in the virus i.e. its properties keep changing. Most variants end up by mutation on their own, but sometimes it becomes many times stronger and more dangerous than before. This process happens so fast that scientists do not even understand one form and a new form comes out. Scientists estimate that the new form of Corona found in Britain may be 70% more dangerous than before.
