No new corona patients were found on Friday in Dharavi, Mumbai’s suburb and Asia’s largest slum. The first case came here on 1 April. This is the first time since then. In this area with a population of more than 10 lakhs, a sudden increase in the corona case was recorded in a single month. About 100 cases were coming every day. At one time, the total infectious population had crossed 3000. The cases were controlled in July here for increasing testing and strictness. The World Health Organization (WHO) was also praised for its methods of dealing with Corona here.

22 thousand 275 new infected in 24 hours
On Friday, 22 thousand 275 new infections were identified in the country. 22 thousand 87 patients were cured and 251 infected died. A total of 1.01 crore cases have been done so far. Of these, 97.39 lakh patients have been cured, 1.47 lakh patients have died, while 2.80 lakh patients are undergoing treatment.

Famous Urdu poet Shamsur Rahman passed away

Famous Urdu poet Shamsur Rahman Farooqui died in Allahabad on Friday. The 85-year-old Farooqui recovered from Corona a month earlier. Farooqui, who was awarded the Padma Shri, was discharged from the hospital in Delhi on 23 November. He was admitted here after being corona infected.

His nephew Mahmood Farooqui said that while living in Delhi, he insisted on going to his home in Allahabad. We arrived here in the morning with them. Half an hour after coming home, he said goodbye to the world.

Born on 30 September 1935, Farooqui has the credit of reviving Dastangoi. Dastangoi is a way of telling the 16th century Urdu story. He continued writing compositions in Urdu for 50 years. These include Ghalib Afsane’s advocacy in 1989, I Mirror of Beauty (Many Chand Thi Sar-e-Aakash) in 2006 and The Sun Rose from the Earth, written in 2014. She also received the Saraswati Award in 1996.

78% active cases in only 10 states
About 2.80 lakh infected people are now being treated in the country. 78% of these cases are in only 10 states. These include Kerala (60,157), Maharashtra (54,891), Uttar Pradesh (16,299), West Bengal (15,193), Chhattisgarh (15,153), Karnataka (13,610), Rajasthan (11,671), Gujarat (10,741), Madhya Pradesh (10,676) and Tamil Nadu ( 9,217).

Corona updates

  • The lockdown in Kerala’s Sabarimala temple this year resulted in an offering of just Rs 9.09 crore. In the last 39 days only 71 thousand 706 devotees have visited here. 156.60 crores was offered last year.
  • A child recently returned from Britain has been found to be Corona positive in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. A sample of her swab has been sent to the Virology Institute in Pune to ascertain if she is infected with two new corona strains found in Britain. The Municipal Corporation of Bhubaneswar has given this information.
  • Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has said that those coming to Goa from Britain will be kept in isolation for some days even after getting a negative report.
  • 10 people returned from Britain in Karnataka have been found positive. They have been sent to their sample research center to find out if they are infected with the new strain. State Health Minister K Sudhakar gave this information on Friday.
  • A person returned from Britain in Assam has also been found corona infected. His sample has been sent to the National Institute of Virology, Pune for examination. Health Minister Hemant Biswa Sarma gave this information.
  • According to the government, preparations for the roll-out of the Corona vaccine in the country have been stepped up. Training was completed with more than 7000 district level trainees in all states and union territories except Lakshadweep. Training will be given on December 29 in Lakshadweep.
  • For vaccination, the government is planning a dry run of the Corona vaccine in four states Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Gujarat and Punjab next week. Here the methods for initiating vaccination will be investigated. The vaccine’s dry run trial will be conducted in two districts of these states, Ludhiana and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar. Vaccination drives will be tried on December 28 and 29 at 5-5 places in both districts.
  • Night curfew has been lifted in Punjab from 25 to 27 December to commemorate the martyrdom meeting. Earlier, the state government imposed a night curfew in the state till 5 January.
  • Due to new strains of Coronavirus in Britain, the Center has also banned Vande Bharat flights going there. Order has been issued for this.
  • Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has said that we have prepared a list of 51 lakh people, including front line workers and health care workers, who will be given the corona vaccine in the first phase. According to the two doses, one crore two lakh vaccines will be required for the first phase vaccination in Delhi. He said that right now we have arrangements to store 74 lakh doses, which we are going to increase to 1.15 crore in the next one week.

State of 5 states
1. Delhi

758 new patients were found here on Friday. 1370 people recovered and 30 died. So far, 6.21 lakh cases have been reported here. Of these, 6.03 lakh patients have been cured, 10 thousand 414 have died, while 7267 are undergoing treatment.

2. Madhya Pradesh
The report of 1031 patients came positive on Friday. 1234 cured infections and 12 died. So far 2.36 lakh people have been infected in the state. Of these, 2.22 lakh have been cured, 3536 died and 10 thousand 461 are under treatment.

3. Gujarat
910 corona infects were identified here on Friday. 1114 recovered and six died. A total of 2.40 lakh cases have been reported so far. Of these, 2.25 lakh patients have been cured, 4268 patients have lost their lives due to this epidemic, while 10 thousand 531 are undergoing treatment.

4. Rajasthan
On Friday, 1023 new infections were identified. 987 patients recovered and seven died. So far, 3.03 lakh cases have been reported in the state. Of these, 2.89 lakh patients have been cured, 2657 infected people have died, while 11 thousand 700 are undergoing treatment.

5. Maharashtra
On Friday, 3431 new infections were identified here. 1427 patients recovered and 71 died. So far, 19.13 lakh cases have been reported here. Of these, 18.06 lakh patients have been cured, while 49 thousand 129 infected people have died. Now 56 thousand 823 patients are being treated.
