Kunal Kamra is a standup comedian and has appeared on several OTT platforms.

Comedian Kunal Kamra, who made a controversial tweet about the judges of the Supreme Court, has tweeted again. Kunal has posted a letter on Twitter to Attorney General KK Venugopal, who cleared the initiation of contempt case against him. Sharing this, Kunal wrote – no lawyer, no apology, no penalty.

I like a good audience: Kunal
Kunal wrote – Dear Judges, Mr. KK Venugopal, the tweets I have recently described as contempt of court. My tweets were my own view against the Supreme Court’s discriminatory decision in favor of a prime-time loudspeaker. I enjoy putting up a court and I like a good audience. Audiences like Supreme Court judges and the country’s top law officers may be the most VIPs. But, I have realized that wherever I perform, it will be rare to get time before the Supreme Court.

Kunal said- My opinion has not changed

Kunal wrote – My opinion has not changed, because the Supreme Court’s opinion on the personal freedom of others cannot pass without criticism. I am not going to retract my tweets or apologize for them. I believe that they have said it right. Like the contempt petition against me, I also hope to get the time of hearing to those who are not as lucky as me. Petitions challenging the legal validity of the electoral bonds and many other cases need to be heard more against demonetisation, J&K’s decision to revoke special status. Senior Advocate Harish Salve ji, if the time of my hearing becomes more important, will the sky burst? “

Judge will laugh before calling my tweets contempt

Kunal said- The Supreme Court has not declared anything regarding my tweets yet. But whenever they do so, I hope they will laugh a little before declaring contempt. In one of my tweets, I had asked the Supreme Court to put a photo of Harish Salve in place of Mahatma Gandhi. Now I would say that Pandit Nehru’s photo should be removed and the photo of Mahesh Jethmalani be replaced.

Kunal arrived to gift slippers on Arnab’s birthday

Earlier, Kunal Kamra had tried to instigate Republic TV’s Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami as a ‘coward’ in IndiGo’s flight from Mumbai to Delhi. Taking cognizance of the uproar, several flights, including IndiGo, imposed a 6-month ban on them. On Arnab’s birthday too, Kunal along with filmmaker Anurag Kashyap came to gift him slippers. There was a lot of discussion on this in social media.

Arnab was arrested in the case of designer’s suicide

Arnab was arrested by the police on November 4 from his home in a case of abetting Naik and his mother to suicide in 2018. Arnab moved the Supreme Court after not getting bail from the Bombay High Court. The Supreme Court on Wednesday granted bail to Arnab Goswami and two other accused on a personal bond of Rs 50,000 each.
