A day after Mamata Banerjee’s resignation from Trinamool, Shubhendu Adhikari decided to get Z category security from the Center. According to the order of the Home Ministry, after discussion with the central security agencies, it has been decided to give Z security in Shubhendu in Bengal. They will also get a bulletproof vehicle. Outside Bengal they will get Y + Security cover.
BJP can join in 1-2 days
Shubhendu, who was close to Mamta, resigned from the legislature on Wednesday and the party on Thursday. He was an MLA from Nandigram seat in East Midnapore. He was away from the leadership of the party for some time. Shubhendu’s departure is also a setback for Mamta with the party. On December 19, Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Bengal. There is speculation that Shubhendu may join BJP during this time.
Shubhendu’s family affected more than 80 seats
Shubhendu Adhikari is considered a great leader of Midnapore district. His family has been in politics for many years. Shubhendu’s father has been an MLA and MP from the Congress. He was the Minister of State for Rural Development in the UPA government and is currently a Trinamool MP. Shubhendu himself has been continuously winning the election of MLA and MP.
He first won the assembly elections in 2006. He then won the Lok Sabha elections in 2009. Also captured his seat in 2014. In 2016, he contested the assembly election and became the Transport Minister. Shubhendu has one brother MP and the other municipal president. This family has influence on more than 80 seats in 6 districts.
