  • Banking and metal shares led the market rally on Thursday
  • Today, there was a great purchase in the shares of government companies in the market.

The BSE Sensex is up 724.02 points at 41,340.16 and the Nifty is up 211.80 points at 12,120.30 due to strong global cues. Today, the market boom was led by banking and metal stocks. The Nifty Bank index closed up 2% and the Nifty Metal Index gained over 4%.

Due to market growth, the total market cap of the companies listed on BSE has increased by Rs 2.81 lakh crore to Rs 162.29 lakh crore as against Rs 159.48 lakh crore on Wednesday.

Stocks update

Hindalco and IndusInd Bank saw a 6-6% gain in the Nifty. State-owned banks SBI and BPCL also saw a rise of 5-5 per cent. While shares of Hero MotoCorp and HDFC Life closed down slightly. The BSE Sensex opened 495.98 points higher at 41,112.12 and the Nifty opened 153.90 points higher at 12,062.40.

About 61% of the shares of companies on BSE rose

  • BSE’s market cap stood at Rs 162.27 lakh crore
  • Shares of 2,828 companies were traded. In this, shares of 1,737 companies rose and 912 companies declined.
  • Shares of 97 companies remained at 1-year highs and shares of 61 companies were at one-year lows
  • 208 companies share upper circuit and 217 companies lower circuit

Rupee Value

Joe Biden’s growth in the US presidential election was also reflected in the currency market. The rupee strengthened 40 paise to close at 74.36 per dollar on Thursday. Earlier in the morning, the rupee opened 47 paise at 74.29 per dollar. Whereas, the rupee had lost 34 paise to close at 74.74 per dollar yesterday.

Reason for market boom
1. Strong Global Signs
The Indian stock market is booming. This is due to the rapid growth in the US-based Nasdaq and S&P 500, Japan’s Nikkei, China’s Shanghai Composite. In addition, Joe Biden’s growth in the US presidential election also has an impact.
2. Increase in heavyweights – There is great buying in the shares of big companies in the market. On the BSE, shares of Reliance Industries, TCS, Infosys, SBI and Kotak Bank are trading up. This is supporting the boom of the market.
3. Signs of improvement in economy- There are signs of improvement in the economy in October. The PME index peaked at 54.1 according to IHS Market. Apart from this, there has been improvement in the figures of electricity consumption, auto sales and others. Apart from this, companies have also reported strong results in the second quarter.
4. Corona in the country New cases of corona in the country have declined. The recovery rate has also crossed 92%. In addition, the market is positive with a below average death toll in 21 states.

Market condition on wednesday

The BSE Sensex was up 355.01 points at 40,616.14 yesterday and the Nifty closed up 95 points at 11,908.50. The market gains were led by IT and Pharma shares on Wednesday. The Nifty IT index closed with a gain of 368 points. While the metal index was seen to decline. IndusInd Bank shares closed up 4% in the index yesterday. Shares of Sun Pharma and Divis Lab also saw gains of 3-3 per cent. While UPL’s stock closed down 4%.

Boom in worldwide markets
On Wednesday, shopping was seen in markets across the world. The US market Dow Jones gained 1.34% to close at 27,847.70, up 367.63 points. The Nasdaq index also gained 4.41% to end 497.11 points at 11,777.00, while the S&P 500 index gained 2.20% to close at 74.28 points at 3,443.44.

The European market also saw a boom yesterday. The UK FTSE index closed up 1.67%. On the other hand, France’s CAC index gained 2.44% to close at 4,922.85. Germany’s DAX index closed up 1.95% at 12,324.20 on Wednesday. Today, Japan’s Nikkei index is trading up 332.27 points in Asian markets. Hong Kong’s Hangseng Index is also trading with a gain of 641.81 points. In addition, the Shanghai Composite Index of China is also trading with a gain of 0.88%.
