Captain Ajinkya Rahane returned to the pavilion after scoring 112 runs off 223 balls. He is runout for the first time in his Test career. He partnered 121 runs off 245 balls for the sixth wicket with Jadeja. Rahane scored his 12th century of Test career. This was his second century on Australian soil. Earlier in the Boxing-Day Test in 2014, he scored 147 runs at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
Rahane is the 5th Indian captain to score a century in Australia
Rahane is the 12th Indian captain to score a century in Tests. At the same time, he is the 5th Indian captain to score a Test century in Australia. Rahane has scored 2 centuries in MCG. He is the second Indian captain to do so. Earlier, former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar achieved this feat in the 1999/00 series.

India lead in 2 consecutive Tests in Australia after 35 years
The Indian team took the lead in the first innings of this Test against Australia. Earlier in the day-night Test played in Adelaide, India took the lead in the first innings. He scored 520 runs in response to 381 runs scored by Australia. Shubman became the third Indian player to score the most runs by making a debut in Australia. He scored 45 runs in the first innings of the debut match. Mayank Agarwal’s name is the record for the highest runs. He scored 76 runs in 2018-19.
