  • Angad refused to cross the sea to Lanka in search of Sita, as he lacked confidence.

story – Hanumanji, Jamwant and Angad were told by Sampathi that Sita is in Ravana’s Lanka in the Sundarkand of Sri Ramcharit Manas. Now the big question in front of them was that who would go to Lanka to search Sita after crossing such a big sea?

First of all, Jamwant said that I am old now, so this work is not for me. After this Angad said that I can go to Lanka by crossing the sea, but whether I will be able to come back or not, I doubt it.

This is a sign of Angad’s weak confidence, he did not trust his powers, his abilities, so he refused to go to Lanka. When no solution was realized, then Jamwant inspired Hanumanji for this work.

Jamwant said to Hanumanji, Hanuman, why are you sitting silent? You are the son of Pawan Dev, you are like Pawan Dev in strength, you are also knowledgeable in intellect, wisdom and science. What is the work that you cannot do in this world? You were born to do Ramkaj.

Hanumanji remembered his powers as soon as he heard these things and was filled with enthusiasm. He shaped his body like a mountain. Hanumanji crossed the sea and reached Lanka and discovered Sita in Lanka, gave him the message of Sri Ram, lit Lanka and returned and came back to Sri Ram too.

Learning – The work, small or big, cannot be completed without confidence. If we trust in ourselves, then we can easily complete the task which looks impossible.
